Update your Internet browser: detected an important security gap
THE MAIL
The Internet Safety Office (OSI) has alerted a safety gap in the Google Chrome browser.Although the details of vulnerability have not been specified, it has been marked with the utmost importance in the scale used by the National Cybersecurity Institute, which manifests the urgency of taking measures.
As usual in these cases, OSI urges that the browser be updated to the latest version available on all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS):
«In the case of mobile devices version 97.0.4692.87 will be available for Android in a few days through Google Play, while in the case of iOS version 97.0.4692.84 is now available at Apple Store. For the rest of the devices with Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems, the latest version available is 97.0.4692.71 «.
How to check if our software is up to date?Just follow these simple steps:
• We access the Chrome menu through the button with three points located in the upper right of the browser.
• In the 'Help' option we select 'Google Chrome' information. If the message 'Chrome is updated' we have the most recent version of the program and therefore we are safe.
• If after following the previous point we find the 'Update Google Chrome' button, we must click on it and restart the browser to run the update.
Internet browsers are the entrance door of most viruses. These malicious programs often take control of our devices to subtract sensitive information (electronic banking credentials) and connect to a network with which to spread around the globe.
