The City Council discovers irregularity through satellite images

With a minor work license, some neighbors of Beade, in Vigo, expanded the height of their house and built an annexed garage.When the City Council discovered it, then they claimed that irregularity was already prescribed for having committed it more than seven years ago.But neither the work was as small nor as old as they wanted to make the offenders see.The Urban Planning Management has recently ordered the demolition of this illegal extension carried out a house on Ramiro Pascual Street.Again, satellite images constitute a fundamental tool to verify urban irregularities and disassemble the arguments of the offenders to try to defend them.

The City Council used aerial photographs taken during the years 2014, 2017 and 2018 to check if these maintenance works really did.But what he discovered was that it was built far beyond what was announced, of what was allowed and what would be legalized.The offenders carried out the demolition of the roof to gain height in the house.They raised the side walls about 50 centimeters, approximately.On the other hand, several auxiliary buildings demolished to build a garage of about 50 square meters.

These are works that cannot be legalized.The disassembly and subsequent reconstruction of the roof by increasing the height "non -legalizing by being stuck or pre -existing immoble in a situation of management," concludes the urban infraction file.On the other hand, the demolition of several auxiliary buildings to lift the garage can not be legalized for exceeding the permitted works of maintenance and conservation of the pre -existing use, due to the situation out of order in which the property is.

The owners tried to justify that the infraction would be prescribed, but thanks to historical satellite photographs they discovered that the garage was still not doing in 2014.
