Some 200,000 Peruvian students will have internet available in their educational establishments starting in 2022. This possibility will be offered by the Sencinet cloud telecommunications and services integrator, a company that has just been declared winner of the bidding process opened by the Ministry of Education, referring to the Basic Education for all Program (MINEDU / 26).

The result announced on Thursday October 7 sets a value of 78 million soles for Sencinet to install and maintain equipment such as VSAT antennas in 1,303 schools in areas difficult to access for three years in Peruvian territory for connection, via satellites in the Ku and Ka bands. To win the contract, Sencinet overcame proposals from companies such as Telespazio, lumen (CenturyLink) and Americatel with Axess.

Sencinet's sales and marketing executive director Jayme Ribeiro explains that in addition to antennas, Sencinet will install UPS devices in schools and equipment to provide Wi-Fi at all locations. "the execution of this type of operation is one of Sencinet's most outstanding features. Throughout the company's history, we have developed numerous similar projects in countries such as Brazil and Colombia, bringing quality connections to remote regions of the Amazon forest where you can only reach by boat, "he says.

"in this type of project we manage to combine the satisfaction of social responsibility, by helping to increase the quality of the education of young people and adolescents with the business objectives of the company, demonstrating the full potential of our vertical satellite services."

Sencinet is the result of the acquisition of the Latin American national operations of BT (British Telecommunications) by CIH Group, a global private capital firm based in Washington D.C. and Singapore.

Sencinet's country Manager for the countries of the Andean region, Eliana Naranjo, states that the company's triumph in the MINDU / 26 project competition marks the beginning of a period of strong expansion of the company in Peru. "we are structuring a comprehensive process of building partnerships with regional Internet providers (ISP) to expand the distribution of our products. We plan to significantly expand our presence in the country in the short and medium term, with satellite services, SD-WAN, the Internet and network security, "he says.
