Is it worth buying the Huawei Freebuds 4I headphones? This is Noungeek's opinion
The Tws - True Wireless Stereo - has become complex. The proposals between price, style, sound quality, loading options and noise cancellation multiply, but there are few who can really combine everything in a single packaging.Huawei has learned to make a space in this new battlefield, and have announced locally the availability of the Freebuds 4I, the “low cost” proposal of the PRO Version. We have tried the team and share here our final review.
These are the things you should know about the team:
The lightest to carry. From the case, Freebuds stand out for lightness. An egg -shaped case protects and loads the Earbuds, the same ones that have an extension to connect both pieces to the loading system to the container bottom.Undoubted.Of course, it was very difficult for me to get them out at all times.I had to look.Tip: On the right side of the case there is a button that allows the Bluetooth connection.Leave it press.
Continuous design. From the first editions of the Freebuds, we have this “flag” structure of the headphones. In this case, the 10 mm main driver is complemented by a resonance system housed on the inner face of the equipment, allowing serious frequencies to have more presence. The capsule enters without problems to the ear, and we can exchange the silicone tip with spare parts in the box, although those that come by default are adjusted quite well.In my daily walks to walk the dog, I never had problems of falls or displacements in the ear.
Cancellation at different levels. This team integrates the Freebuds Studio ANC system, but on a different scale. We have "Awareness" to listen to the environment, active noise cancellation and a neutral mode that takes advantage of the silicone seal in the ear as passive cancellation.Already with the team off, the outer noise is reduced, but we have a way that helps us listen to the environment, even reproducing music. The active cancellation is tremendous, in combination with silicone and microphones added under the capsule that houses the sound system and the external part of the cane.
Simplified and configurable tactile system. From the Life app -that of the Appgallery, which you can download on any Android -, we can access a series of settings, among which the configuration of the touches in the tactile part of the team stands out.In this case, the 4I recognize double touch and long pulsation, although the latter can only be adjusted to both Earbuds and not individually. The touch answer, despite the thin structure of the hearing aid, is really good.
Audio quality. It is one of the high points of the device. At serious frequencies, respond without problems and without saturating the signal. With high quality audio we have a very well raised distance from instruments, and the mixture is not noticeable. For voices, the extension at average frequencies is pleasant, and sometimes the hearing aid is able to collect the severe frequencies closest to the vocal range to give that punch in podcasts. In volume, the equipment remains without problems to reproduce content up to 100% output, and the noise canceler complements our experience well.I usually have meetings in Teams from the street, and external noise neutralizes well, in addition to maintaining a even level for the interventions of others.
Performance above average. The key element in these Freebuds 4i is connectivity efficiency.Sometimes, there are equipment that optimizes the connection between devices of the same brand, and in this case I have tried the 4I with Vivo, Tecno and Xiaomi. In no case had signal drops or connection problems. When that happens, as happened to me with the Moecan de Honor, the signal falls without losing Sync.In other cases, it happens that headphones reproduce the content with gap between them. Not here. They shut up, recover stability and reproduce. This, I must say, did not happen more than once.
Autonomy of good.10 minutes of load give you 4 hours of playback.Already with that, we cover part of our morning or an exercise session. In a little less than fifty minutes I could load the case, and I have almost always had an energy reserve. It seems that the energy with the top anc does not lower so fast, and that is a point in favor.
What I do not like.Unfortunately we cannot control the volume from the headphones themselves, and the app does not allow you to configure the actions for calls - Tap twice to respond and finish - nor add an equalizer. In the case of design, the equipment does not have an explicit certification against the entry of dust and water.I find it a bit difficult to remove them from their case, and it is impossible to do it with one hand, unlike the Galaxy Buds. The lack of rapid access to music services or voice assistant is noticeable, especially when you come from more premium experiences. Finally, we have no wireless load for this team.
It's worth it?Yes, and I think they can be a good investment for both sides of the market. If you have lost more expensive hearing aids and want something of less cost of good quality, go for them.If you are looking to join a little more budget for a first pair of headphones with noise cancellation, this is your option.Personally it kills the baston design a little, but I must admit that the team responded to my needs without problems.Faced with honor, noise cancellation is a huge weight in favor. In front of the Galaxy Buds Live that always uses, there are three steps back - integration to other apps, wireless load and IP protection - but it is a very good experience. At the cost of 349 soles, it seems to me a successful investment.Go for them.
